Third Arm is a local-first productivity app for macOS (menu bar + main window). Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support of Third Arm. For App Store billing or refunds, use Report a Problem or your Apple ID subscription settings.
Quick troubleshooting
- App won’t open / menu bar missing: Quit Third Arm from Activity Monitor if needed, reopen from Applications, and confirm it isn’t hidden in the menu bar overflow (»).
- Notifications not firing: System Settings → Notifications → Third Arm → allow alerts. Also check in-app Settings that notifications are enabled.
- Sync not updating: Pro plan required. Enable sync in Settings, sign in with Apple, and confirm you’re online. Clipboard history never syncs to iCloud.
- Purchases / Pro features: Use Restore Purchases in Settings. Subscriptions are managed by Apple under your Apple ID.
- Permissions: Some tools need Accessibility, Screen Recording, or Calendar — grant them in System Settings → Privacy & Security when prompted.
FAQ
Do I need an account?
No. Third Arm works locally without an account. Sign in with Apple is optional and mainly for Pro iCloud sync.
Where is my data stored?
On your Mac by default. If you enable Pro sync, a copy is stored in your Apple iCloud / CloudKit private database under your Apple ID.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On your Mac: System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Third Arm → Cancel. Or manage it at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
What is AI Connect?
Pro+ feature: a private on-device link so Cursor or Claude Desktop can pull live context from Third Arm while the app is open, plus optional paste export for web AIs. Nothing is web-hosted by us. Third Arm does not store your AI provider keys.
How do I delete my data?
Delete entries in the app, or uninstall Third Arm and remove its Application Support files if you want a full local wipe. If you used Pro sync, also manage iCloud data via your Apple ID / iCloud settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.
